Job summary

OCS Recruitment Ltd is recruiting on behalf of a leading Mechanical & Electrical contractor in Central London. We are seeking an Assistant Estimator to support cost estimates, tender submissions and commercial evaluations for M&E projects.

You will work with senior estimators and project teams, gain exposure to take-offs, bills of quantities, and cost inputs, and develop your estimating and commercial skills in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in estimating, QS, or commercial support (M&E or construction)
• Ability to read drawings and perform basic take-offs
• Strong numeracy, detail orientation, and teamwork

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing accurate estimates and tender submissions for M&E projects
• Measure and quantify take-offs from drawings and specifications
• Support cost research, supplier, and subcontractor enquiries
• Prepare material, labour, plant, and subcontractor cost inputs
• Assist in compiling bills of quantities and tender documentation
• Collaborate with the commercial and project teams to gather and verify data
• Maintain estimating databases and cost libraries
