Job summary

GM Recruitment is seeking an experienced M&E Estimator for a permanent role in Central London. You will prepare competitive tenders, carry out take-offs from drawings, and produce cost plans up to GBP2m, collaborating with suppliers and internal teams.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years’ M&E estimating experience, strong commercial acumen, and knowledge of NSR schedules. A relevant estimating qualification is advantageous. The role is based in Central London with a 40-hour week.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience as an M&E Estimator with an M&E contractor.
• Experience pricing commercial tenders up to GBP2m.
• Experience using take-off and estimating software.
• Experience costing/measuring against NSR schedules.

M&E Estimator

Our client, an established M&E contractor delivering commercial projects up to GBP20m, is looking to appoint an experienced M&E Estimator to join their team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders for M&E projects up to approximately GBP2m, working closely with suppliers, subcontractors, clients and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare competitive tender packages and first-principles pricing up to GBP2m.

About You

• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.


• Knowledge of MTC, JCT and NEC contracts.


• HNC or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services Engineering would be advantageous.


• Confident working with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.

Qualifications & Technical Knowledge

• A relevant Estimating or Design qualification.


• HNC or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.


• Knowledge of MTC, JCT and NEC forms of contract.


• Experience supporting contract bid submissions, including costing against specifications and NSR schedules.
