Job summary

Galliford Try is seeking an Assistant Estimator to join the pre-construction team in Leicester. The role covers bid management, estimating and pricing, with exposure to Single/Two Stage Tendering, Design & Build, Frameworks and Negotiated Tenders.

Responsibilities include cost planning, quantity take-offs, BOQ preparation and running sub-contract and material enquiries; plus analysis of specifications and compliance checks to form the tender sum.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of preparing tenders for small/medium infrastructure projects.
• Experience working with a Main Contractor preferred.
• Clean driving licence is required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing requirements.
• Self-starter capable of working independently.

Responsibilities

• Cost planning and analytical/1st principles estimating.
• Measuring and taking off quantities from drawings (electronic).
• Preparing bill of quantities and pricing documentation.
• Sending out sub-contract and materials enquiries.
• Specification analysis and review.
• Reviewing enquiry returns and checking compliance.
• Assembling pricing elements to form tender sums.
• Assisting in preparing tenders for adjudication or settlements.
• Commercial review of opportunities and tender documents and supplier relations.
