Job summary

Galliford Try in Leicester is seeking a Part-Time Estimator to join our pre-construction team. You will handle bid management, estimating and pricing duties across infrastructure tenders, with exposure to single and two-stage tendering, design & build and frameworks.

The role requires cost planning, quantity takeoffs from drawings (Bluebeam), preparing and sending enquiries, and commercial review to optimise tender sums. You will work flexibly with the team to deliver competitive bids.

Qualifications

• Experience preparing tenders for infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with procurement routes including Single and Two Stage Tendering, Design & Build, Frameworks and Negotiated Tenders.
• Ability to analyse specifications and review drawings for pricing

Responsibilities

• Cost Planning and Analytical/ 1st Principles Estimating
• Measuring and taking off quantities from drawings – electronic (Bluebeam)
• Preparing bill of quantity / pricing documentation
• Preparing and sending out sub-contract and materials enquiries
• Specification analysis & review
• Reviewing enquiry returns / checking compliance
• Compilation of pricing elements to form tender sum
• Assisting in preparing tenders for adjudication / settlement meetings
• Commercial review of opportunities and tender documents
• Development of Supply Chain & Supplier relations to assist in optimising commercial position
