Job summary

Fawkes & Reece London is seeking an Assistant Estimator to support long-term commercial refurbishments and steel frame projects in Kent. You will manage tender submissions, review drawings and specs, and work with clients, subcontractors and internal teams to produce accurate, competitive estimates.

The role requires strong commercial awareness, analytical skills, and proficiency with estimating software and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills.
• Experience pricing a range of construction projects.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
• Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions.
• Review drawings, specifications, and contract documentation.
• Obtain and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions.
• Attend site visits, tender interviews, and client meetings.
• Work collaboratively with the pre-construction, commercial, and operational teams.
• Assess project risks and opportunities during the tender process.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market conditions, material costs, and supply chain pricing.
