Job summary

Fawkes & Reece London is seeking an Assistant Estimator or Estimator to join its established preconstruction team in the East Midlands. You will prepare detailed cost estimates for civil engineering, infrastructure, highways and earthworks, and work closely with design and commercial teams to tender effectively.

The role suits candidates with experience in estimating or site-based roles who want to move into preconstruction and value engineering, with strong communication and teamwork skills

Qualifications

• Experience in estimating, commercial or technical site-based roles in civil engineering or construction.
• Knowledge of infrastructure, highways, groundworks or earthworks is advantageous.
• Good communication and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and support detailed cost estimates for civil engineering, infrastructure, highways and earthworks projects.
• Review tender documentation, drawings, specifications and bills of quantities.
• Undertake quantity take-offs and assist with pricing schedules.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Work closely with preconstruction managers, engineers, and operational teams.
• Identify risks, opportunities and value engineering during estimating.
