Job summary

Fawkes & Reece London is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead the bidding process for a long-term commercial build in Kent. You will manage from initial enquiry to final submission, working with clients, subcontractors and internal teams to deliver accurate, competitive tenders.

Responsibilities include reviewing drawings and specs, obtaining quotations, identifying value engineering opportunities, and mentoring junior estimators.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Estimator within the construction industry.
• Strong commercial awareness and excellent analytical skills.
• Experience pricing a range of construction projects.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
• Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions.
• Review drawings, specifications, and contract documentation.
• Obtain and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions.
• Attend site visits, tender interviews, and client meetings.
• Work collaboratively with the pre-construction, commercial, and operational teams.
• Assess project risks and opportunities during the tender process.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market conditions, material costs, and supply chain pricing.
• Support and mentor junior estimators where appropriate.
