Job summary

Careys is seeking an Assistant Estimator in London/Camden Town to support the estimating team. You will measure from tender drawings, prepare bills of quantities, and assist estimators in compiling estimates and rate bills of quantities.

A degree in civil engineering, QS, or construction management is required, with 5+ years of relevant experience. You will work with Bluebeam or CADmeasure and have exposure to RC frames or civil works, collaborating with the team on tender submissions and client

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management.
• 5+ years of industry experience.
• Exposure to RC frames or civil works.
• Familiar with measurement methods, e.g., SMM7.

Responsibilities

• Review the scope, drawings and specifications.
• Use Bluebeam or CADmeasure to measure and take-off quantities.
• Prepare bills of quantities following standard methods.
• Compile supplier/sub-contractor enquiries for tendering.
• Rate items within bills of quantities from first principles.
• Support mid-bid/tender reviews and client meetings.
