Job Title: Assistant Estimator
An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Estimator to join a busy Estimating team. This role involves supporting senior estimators in the preparation, costing, and submission of tenders across a range of construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist lead estimators in the compilation of competitive tender submissions.
Support the measurement and quantification of project requirements.
Provide cover for the Estimating Administrator during periods of annual leave.
Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to gather quotations and relevant documentation.
Help maintain accurate records of tender documents and correspondence.
Candidate Profile:
Ideally working towards a qualification in construction or a related field, with some prior experience in a similar role.
A proactive approach with a willingness to learn and take on increased responsibility as skills develop.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
Based within approximately one hour of the office (typically within Surrey).
Training will be provided, with scope for progression based on aptitude and performance.
Salary & Benefits:
Salary in the range of 30,000 to 45,000 per annum, depending on experience and ability.
Two-month probationary period.
4 weeks of annual leave, plus discretionary additional days at Christmas.
Access to the company pension scheme upon completion of probation.
Eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus scheme after one year of service.
