Job summary

Westin Par LLP is seeking an Assistant Estimator to join its Pre-Construction team. The role offers exposure to a range of construction projects and collaboration with experienced estimators. A strong background in construction or quantity surveying support is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of construction tenders and budgets.
• Review tender documents, drawings and project specifications.
• Undertake quantity take-offs from construction drawings.
• Prepare Bills of Quantities.
• Issue enquiries to subcontractors and suppliers; obtain and analyse quotations.
• Assist with tender submissions and bid documentation.
• Support post-tender activities and project handovers.
• Maintain subcontractor and supplier databases.
• Attend site visits as required.
• Provide administrative support to estimating and pre-construction team.

Our client, a well-established and expanding Main Contractor, is seeking an Assistant Estimator to join their Pre-Construction team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to develop their estimating career, gain exposure to a wide variety of construction projects and work alongside experienced Estimators and construction professionals.

This role would suit candidates with experience in construction, estimating, quantity surveying support, construction administration or pre-construction who are keen to progress within a commercially focused environment.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Previous experience within construction, estimating, pre-construction or a related environment
• Strong IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and technical documentation
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Strong attention to detail and numerical ability
