Job Overview

They are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join the team as an Assistant Estimator. In this role, you will work closely with our experienced estimators to assist in the preparation of cost estimates for a range ofconstruction projects. This is a full-time, permanent position with opportunities for growth and development within the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with the estimating team to assist in the preparation of cost estimates for projects
• Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine the scope of work and materials required
• Obtain and analyse quotes from subcontractors and suppliers
• Assist in the preparation of take-offs and quantities for materials and labour
• Utilise estimating software and spreadsheets to accurately calculate costs
• Participate in bid meetings and presentations
• Maintain accurate and organized records of all estimates and related documents
• Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure accurate and timely completion of estimates
• Continuously seek opportunities to improve and streamline the estimating process

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Quantity Surveying
• 1-2 years of experience in construction estimating preferred
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and techniques
• Proficient in using estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
• Ability to read and interpret project plans and specifications
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
