Job summary

Build Recruitment Limited is seeking an Assistant Estimator in Birmingham to support cost estimation for social housing projects, including planned maintenance and refurbishment works. You will review drawings and tender documents to prepare competitive pricing and help secure contracts.

You will also obtain quotes from subcontractors and suppliers and assist with tender submissions, collaborating with commercial and operational teams to ensure accurate pricing and successful bids.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in estimating or commercial role.
• Experience in social housing, planned works or property services is desirable.
• Strong Excel skills and good commercial awareness.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Construction-related qualification or equivalent experience is advantageous.

The Role

You’ll support the preparation of competitive tenders across a range of social housing contracts, including:

• Assisting with cost estimates for planned maintenance and refurbishment projects
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documents
• Obtaining subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Supporting tender submissions and pricing exercises
• Working closely with commercial and operational teams throughout the bid process

About You
