Job summary

Future plc is recruiting an Assistant Engineer in the United Kingdom. You will travel nationwide with experienced service engineers to maintain customer systems, assist with servicing and repairs across filters, UV units, panels, pumps and valves, and build practical mechanical, electrical and plumbing skills through on-the-job training.

• A genuine interest in or foundational knowledge of electrical systems, pumps, plumbing, or mechanical controls.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, self-motivation, and a practical, hardworking approach to physical tasks.
• Good computer literacy with confidence using standard Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Travelling nationwide alongside experienced service engineers to maintain and service customers systems.
• Assisting with routine servicing, remedial works, and repairs across components including filters, UV disinfection units, control panels, pumps, and valves.
• Developing hands-on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering skills on a daily basis through practical on-the-job training.
• Carrying out technical safety checks.
• Adhering to strict site health and safety standards.
• Completing mandatory documentation accurately, including site safety checklists, confined space entry forms, and activity logs on the company CRM.
• Supporting head office operations by assisting with vehicle checks, workshop inventory, and equipment preparation between site visits.
• Delivering outstanding customer service on client sites and representing the business in a professional manner at all times.
