Looking to begin a career in ecology? FPCR is hiring Seasonal Assistant Ecologists to assist with upcoming survey seasons. We welcome applicants willing and able to travel to our office at Lockington (J24 of the M1). We offer both zero hours and fixed-term contracts for those eager to start a rewarding career, with potential opportunities for permanent positions at season's end.
This role provides an excellent chance to develop practical skills in species and habitat surveys, mitigation techniques, and technical report writing and data presentation. The position involves a mix of fieldwork and office-based consultancy support, including project management, report preparation, and data processing.
You will primarily conduct protected species surveys and habitat creation works in the field. Full on-the-job training will be provided, including training towards protected species licences. Opportunities to gain office experience in survey planning and QGIS work will also be available. Please note that work may require outside normal hours, including evenings and early mornings, and occasional travel across the East Midlands with overnight stays.
