Assistant Ecologist - Derby
£25,000 - £30,000 (DOE)
We're working with a respected, independent environmental consultancy based near Derby that's continuing to grow steadily. They're now looking for an Assistant Ecologist - ideally someone with some early consultancy experience - who's ready to take the next step in their ecological career.
You'll join a friendly, multidisciplinary team of around 40-50 people, including ecologists, arboriculturists, archaeologists, landscape architects, and construction professionals. It's a supportive environment where quality work is valued more than ticking boxes, and where your input will be heard and appreciated.
What you'll be doing:

Assisting with ecological surveys and site assessments
*
Writing technical reports (PEAs, PRAs, BNG assessments, UKHab surveys, etc.)
*
Supporting senior ecologists and contributing to project planning and delivery
*
Visiting sites, liaising with clients, and helping deliver meaningful ecological outcomes
What we're looking for:

A relevant degree (e.g., Ecology, Environmental Science, Conservation)
*
Some experience in ecological consultancy or fieldwork
*
A full, clean UK driving licence
Bonus skills (not essential):
*
Bird ID and/or ornithological survey experience
*
One or more protected species survey licences
