Job summary

Structural Soils, part of the RSK Group, invites applications for an Assistant Driller-based in Bristol. The role supports lead drillers across varied UK locations with hands‑on labouring, safety‑driven tasks, and site preparation. You’ll gain exposure to multiple rig types and be part of a team prioritising quality and H&S.

Ideal candidates have a full UK driving licence, are flexible, reliable, and capable of handling physically demanding tasks. CSCS is desirable but not required.

  • Must have a full UK driving licence.
  • Flexible approach with focus on delivering results.
  • Reliable with good time-keeping.
  • Team player and able to work independently on tasks.
  • Able to carry out physically challenging tasks and follow strict health and safety standards.
  • A CSCS Card is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Working outside throughout the year in varying locations around the UK (staying away is often required; all expenses paid).
  • Assisting Lead Drillers in our Drilling Department on sites all over the UK.
  • Undertaking general labouring duties (fences, reinstatement, deliveries, sample collection).
  • Manual handling and moving heavy items; training in site equipment and plant use.
  • Assisting with tasks in the Warehouse.
  • Opportunities to work on all of our rig types.

Structural Soils part of the RSK Group have an exciting new opportunity! Due to the continued growth of our team, we have a vacancy for an Assistant Driller to join our team based in Bristol, UK. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to join a supportive and experienced team that focuses on quality and H&S. We work all over the UK ranging from inner-city to countryside locations.

Responsibilities:
  • Working outside throughout the year in varying locations around the UK (staying away is often required; all expenses paid)
  • Assisting Lead Drillers in our Drilling Department on sites all over the UK ranging from inner-city to countryside locations
  • Undertaking general labouring duties e.g., erecting fences, general reinstatement, delivery of consumables, hand dug inspection pits and collection of samples
  • Manual handling and moving heavy items, plus training in the use of some site equipment and plant
  • Assisting with tasks in the Warehouse
  • Opportunities to work on all of our rig types
About You:
  • Must have a full UK driving licence.
  • Have a flexible approach to working with a focus of delivering results.
  • Be reliable and have good time-keeping skills.
  • Enjoy working as a team and have the ability to work individually on tasks.
  • Be able to carry out physically challenging tasks.
  • Be able to follow strict industry health and safety and environmental standards.
  • A CSCS Card is desirable but not essential.
