Job summary

RSK Geosciences, part of the RSK Group, is seeking a Senior Geo-Environmental Engineer to join the team. The role is full-time and based in Scotland, UK, supporting a wide range of external clients with geo-environmental and geotechnical projects.

You will design, manage and deliver investigations, logging, and remediation strategies, while developing client relationships and providing technical leadership within the team.

Qualifications

  • BEng or BSc or equal in Civil, Geology or Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Further degree in Engineering Geology, Geotechnics or Environmental Science desirable.
  • Registered with a professional body and working towards Chartered status.

Responsibilities

  • Design and manage geo-environmental and geotechnical ground investigations for external clients and internal teams.
  • Soil and rock logging to current geotechnical standards, including laboratory scheduling.
  • Prepare H&S plans and RAMS.
  • Prepare remediation strategies including on-site verification works.
  • Establish and develop strong client relationships to grow the Geosciences department.
  • Provide technical leadership in day-to-day project delivery.

The Vacancy

RSK Geosciences an RSK Group company are recruiting for a Senior Geo-Environmental Engineer to join the team based in Scotland, UK. This is a full-time, permanent position. The Geosciences team delivers consultancy and design services to a wide range of external clients including engineers, house-builders, oil companies and local authorities. Responsibilities
  • Designing and managing a variety of geo-environmental and geotechnical ground investigation and interpretative projects for both external clients and for other teams within RSK
  • Soil and rock logging to current geotechnical standards, including laboratory scheduling
  • Prepare H&S plans and RAMS
  • Preparation of Remediation Strategy's including verification works on site
  • Establish and develop strong working relationships with new and existing clients, which is integral to the growth of the Geosciences department in Coventry and the wider business
  • Provide technical leadership in the day to day delivery of projects
Qualifications and Experience
  • BEng or BSc or equivalent in Civil, Geology or Geotechnical Engineering or similar
  • Typically a further degree in Engineering Geology, Geotechnics or Environmental Science or equivalent would be desirable
  • Registered with a suitable professional body and working towards Chartered status with a relevant institution (e.g. Geol Soc/CIWEM/ICE)
  • Significant and demonstrable experience of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental investigations and reporting
  • Demonstrable experience and ability to prepare Geotechnical and Geo-environmental Preliminary
