Job summary

NBCUniversal United Kingdom Resort (UUKR) is seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee day-to-day management and development of construction and renovations for major land, attractions, resorts, and related facilities. The role covers planning, budgeting, scheduling, design, fabrication, delivery, and commissioning to meet budget, quality, and guest experience targets.

Responsibilities include coordinating design decisions, managing project teams, and ensuring reliable, safe, and on-schedule

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or a related field is preferred.
• License in Architecture or Engineering is preferred.
• Experience required in facility maintenance with specific training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating and managing design decisions and construction document production; minimise change orders during construction.
• Review scope of work and design of attractions, facilities and themed environments for reliability and safety.
• Monitor project budget and schedule within defined objectives; ensure delivery within budget and schedule.
• Hire and manage the project team necessary to implement the project and open new attractions.
• Manage project reporting to upper management and ensure documentation is complete for project completion.

Job Summary

For Universal United Kingdom Resort (UUKR), this position is responsible for the day-to-day management and development of all construction and/or renovations of major land, attraction, resorts, walkways, and waterways, back of house support buildings, parking structures and any new facilities. This will include planning, budgeting, scheduling, estimating, design, construction, fabrication, delivery, and commissioning required to open the project within the assigned budget, quality, schedule, creative and guest experience targets.

Major Responsibilities

Construction/Fabrication/Implementation

• Responsible for coordinatingand managingdesign decisions and construction document production; avoiding contract claims and disputes; minimisingchange orders during construction phases; effectively managingchanges in the project; eliminatinginterface disruptions between project participants; maintaining, and where possible improvingthe project schedule and budget; ensuringquality design and construction work; emphasising\"hands-on\" management of field operations; establishing and maintaining a competent and experienced staff; implementingefficient and timely document control.


• Reviewing all scope of work as well as design of all attractions, facilities, resorts and themed environments for reliability and safety.

Budget/Scheduling

• Responsible for daily monitoring of project budget within the job scope, and schedule within the targeted objectives set forth during project approval for new attractions, facilities, resorts and themed environments, as well as refurbishments and enhancements.


• Review development criteria to make sure projects are delivered correctly and completely.


• Responsible for the qualification, procurement, selection, contracting and performance of all Architectural, Engineering and Technical designers hired to complete the facility design phase of the project.Direct the successful delivery of projects while maintaining creative/architectural intent within the established budget and schedule andwhile meeting the initial objectives set forth during the concept development.


• Responsible for the hiring and selection of the necessary project team required to implement the project.Responsible for the performance of each of the project team individuals as it relates to the successful opening of new attractions.Responsible for the development and growth of project team.

Project Reporting

• Responsible for the management, tracking and reporting of all the necessary project components inclusive of budget, schedule and progress of the project to upper management. Responsible formaintaining accurate documentation necessary to ensure a successful project completion within the targeted budget and schedule.


• Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.


• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or a related field is preferred.


• License in Architecture or Engineering is preferred.


• Experience required in facility maintenance field with specific training and experience with facility maintenance and inspection; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


• Supervises members of the facility project team.Size of the facility project team varies from team to team.The project team consists of Architects, Engineers, Project Managers, Schedulers, Estimators, Technical personnel ranging from 3 – 15 people in addition to the management of outside Architects, Construction Management, Scheduling, Estimating, Technical, Import and Procurement consultants.
