Job summary

Moody's Investors Service is seeking a data science and AI leader to shape the next generation of risk analytics. You will advance ML/GenAI capabilities, collaborate across teams, and ensure responsible AI practices across product delivery.

The role requires hands-on experience with modern AI architectures, large language models, and production-grade ML systems, plus strong communication with senior stakeholders in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in data science, machine learning or applied AI on projects with data scientists and engineers.
• Hands-on experience building, training, and evaluating ML/deep learning models, incl. transformers.
• Strong Python programming with production ML deployment.
• Familiar with AI coding assistants such as Claude Code and OpenAI Codex across the SDLC.
• Knowledge of LLMs, prompting, fine-tuning, retrieval-augmented generation, and evaluation.
• Experience with agentic AI frameworks/libraries (LangChain, CrewAI, etc.) and tool-use patterns.
• Owns full model-development lifecycle: framing, exploration, design, deployment, monitoring.
• Ability to present complex modeling work to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design, development, and deployment of ML/AI/GenAI solutions.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to translate client needs into data science initiatives.
• Own model selection, experimentation and validation; ensure compliance and production-readiness.
• Identify automation opportunities to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Promote best practices in coding, MLOps, and software engineering.
• Drive responsible AI practices including governance and risk management.
• Communicate technical work clearly to senior leaders and cross-functional partners.
