Job Description:

We are proud to be working closely with one of the UK’s busiest residential-led developers, who have several Assistant Development Managers supporting various schemes across the Thames Valley and South Central region.

This role is suitable for candidates with strong planning and development experience. Depending on the level, the incoming hire should have a good understanding of the wider property and political sphere, placemaking, and be highly numerate. Whether you are currently in a development or planning role, this business values those with these skills. Your responsibilities may include supporting or managing schemes from 100 to 1000 units, often working with JV partners, and collaborating with colleagues in Land and Construction at different stages of the development process.

Key responsibilities include:

• Appraising potential development sites with land buying colleagues for planning and development viability.
• Managing pre-application processes and planning applications, supported by external planning consultants.
• Conducting due diligence, development appraisals, and feasibility and viability studies.
• Coordinating with internal colleagues and external consultants.
• Discharging conditions and liaising with RMAs.
• Representing the company and clients at Planning Committee meetings and consultations.

Ideally, candidates should:

• Hold a Development or Town Planning degree (preferably RTPI or RICS accredited).
• Have experience in a consultancy, developer, or housing association.
• Possess excellent communication, written, and numeracy skills.
• Be dedicated, hardworking, and a team player.
