Context

SYSTRA is expanding our Signature Team in the UK, working on high-profile infrastructure projects such as Transpennine Upgrade and HS2. Building on our 50 years of success in the UK, we are growing our team and seeking passionate individuals to deliver projects across our portfolio.

We are currently looking to strengthen our Engineering team in London, initially working on the HS2 Old Oak Common project. We aim to recruit experienced Assistant Design Managers to oversee the delivery of design, covering Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Public Health, Fire, and Communications (MEPHFC) disciplines for the station, ancillary buildings, and urban realm packages.

Main Duties

The Assistant Design Manager will collaborate with designers and contractors, performing tasks such as:

1. Assist and manage delivery and coordination of all technical aspects of the BBVS JV HS2 OOC Station design Work Packages.
2. Develop and compile technical design packages with Consultants aligned with the project schedule.
3. Coordinate between design and construction teams.
4. Support Engineering, BIM, and Technical Assurance teams to achieve Code 1 Acceptance of all Design Deliverables.
5. Ensure consistency and quality of deliverables across all project areas.
6. Support the Design and Engineering Managers as needed.

Profile/Skills

Candidates should have:

• A relevant degree or proven career abilities.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams on major infrastructure projects.
• Understanding of design and construction processes, preferably in a rail environment (RIBA / GRIP).
• Experience in disciplines such as Civils, Structures, Bridges, Utilities, Architecture, MEP, Fire, or Communication systems.
• Knowledge of CDM obligations.
• Broad Design Management/Engineering experience in infrastructure projects.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience with ProjectWise and Bentley Systems.
