The Ashmolean Museum in Oxford invites applications for an Assistant Curator for Ancient Egypt and Sudan. This full-time, fixed-term post is for three years and involves leading care, research, digitisation and exhibition projects across the Antiquities collections.

The successful candidate will research, document and develop the collections, contribute to gallery redisplays, publish original research, and collaborate with colleagues, researchers and visitors.

Join the Ashmolean Museum and help care for one of the world’s most important collections of ancient Egyptian and Sudanese archaeology.

You will lead exciting collections, research, digitisation and exhibition projects, working with colleagues across the Museum to improve access, interpretation and public engagement.

You will take responsibility for researching, documenting and developing the collections, contribute to exhibitions and gallery redisplays, publish original research, build partnerships, and provide expert advice to researchers, students and visitors. This is an exceptional opportunity to make a lasting contribution to our internationally renowned Antiquities collection.

This is a full-time, fixed-term post for 3 years.

Due to the nature of this post, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a satisfactory Basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
