Job summary

National Museums is seeking an Assistant Curator for Ancient Egypt and Sudan to lead exciting collections, research, digitisation and exhibition projects. You will research, document and develop the collections, contribute to exhibitions and gallery redisplays, publish original research, build partnerships and provide expert advice to researchers, students and visitors.

This full-time, fixed-term post for 3 years requires postgraduate qualifications in Egyptology and substantial museum

Qualifications

  • Postgraduate Egyptology or closely related subject required.
  • Substantial museum or archaeological collections experience essential.
  • Strong research and communication skills.
  • Experience managing complex projects and working with partners.

Responsibilities

  • Lead exciting collections, research, digitisation and exhibition projects.
  • Research, document and develop the collections, contribute to exhibitions and gallery redisplays.
