Job summary

Salford Council is looking for an Assistant Cook for 20 hours per week (term time only). You will work with a small team to maintain high food standards and cover for the Cook Supervisor when needed.

The role requires NVQ 2 in Catering or City & Guilds 706/2 in Catering and a current Basic Hygiene certificate is desirable. DBS checks apply and it’s a permanent, term-time position in Salford.

• NVQ 2 in Catering or City and Guilds 706/2 in Catering is required.
• Current Basic Hygiene certificate is desirable.

About the role

As an Assistant Cook you will work with a tight knit team to ensure that the food served is of a high standard. You would be responsible for ensuring that a quality catering service is maintained whilst covering for the absence of the Cook Supervisor. Supervisory experience within a commercial environment is essential together with a high standard of food presentation and excellent customer care skills. Possession of NVQ 2 in Catering or City and Guilds 706/2 in Catering qualification is required and a current Basic Hygiene certificate is desirable.
