Salford Council is seeking a General Assistant to support the Cook Supervisor in delivering healthy meals for Salford children. The role includes setting up dining areas, washing dishes, serving meals, and some basic food preparation.

The position is permanent and term-time only, with working hours of 10 hours per week across weekdays. The council offers a pension scheme, discounts, and employee wellbeing benefits. DBS check is required with the cost deducted from salary.

About the role

As a General Assistant you will assist the Cook Supervisor in providing healthy, nutritious meals for the children of Salford. Duties may include setting up of dining rooms, washing up, serving of food and some basic food preparation.

Please be aware that this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and that you will be required to meet the cost of the DBS check – currently £41.00. The payment for this will be deducted from your first four months’ salary payments at a rate of £10.25 per month. If you do not commence employment for any reason but the DBS has been processed, you will be sent an invoice for the payment of £41.00.
