• Must possess or be able to obtain a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate within 6 months.
• Experience in a school catering environment is preferred.

Qualifications Required:

Must possess or be able to undertake and obtain a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate within 6 months of appointment.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist and support the Senior Cook in the efficient operation of a school catering service to meet standards.
2. Prepare and cook food, including serving meals and beverages, and organize service points.
3. Monitor and maintain portion control.
4. Assist in marketing the catering service.
5. Deputize for the Senior Cook in their absence, ensuring quality service.
6. Maintain hygiene, cleanliness, and health and safety standards in the kitchen and related areas.
7. Assist in maintaining the HACCP system and documentation, especially in the absence of the Senior Cook.
8. Participate in general kitchen and dining room activities.
