We are March, the UK's leading provider of critical engineering services. Our expertise as a multi-disciplinary engineering partner spans infrastructure, process, and digital services, leading to long-term partnerships with organizations across food and drink, utilities, defense, aerospace, and nuclear industries.

As an Assistant Commercial Manager, you will provide exceptional commercial advice to operational leads to drive revenues, improve forecasted profit margins, and manage commercial risks through project review procedures and contract negotiations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement commercial strategies to achieve business objectives.
  2. Manage and oversee the commercial aspects of projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  3. Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients, suppliers, and partners.
  4. Monitor and manage project risks and ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
  5. Prepare and present commercial reports and proposals to senior management.
  6. Provide pre- and post-commercial advice/support to operational teams.
  7. Maximize profit margins through effective commercial management.
  8. Liaise with operational and finance colleagues to manage work in progress and debt levels.
  9. Review and interrogate Cost Value Reconciliations and Contract Reviews, identifying cost overspends early to minimize profit leakage.
  10. Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes.
  11. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure project success.
  12. Ensure all contract documents are thoroughly reviewed and properly executed before project commencement.
Skills And Experience
  • Previous experience as a Commercial Manager in a similar industry.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial practices, contract management, and financial principles.
  • Proven negotiation skills in a commercial environment.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Qualifications
  • Degree qualification in a relevant industry or equivalent experience.
  • Professional certification preferred.
  • Full UK Driving License.
