Job summary

Hill & Hill Recruitment Ltd in London is seeking an ambitious Assistant Commercial Manager / Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the modern luxury interior/commercial fit-out team. You will support the commercial management of high-end projects from procurement through to final account, helping keep costs controlled and objectives met.

Working with the Commercial Manager and project teams, you will assist with cost reporting, subcontractor management, payments, variations and final accounts,

Qualifications

• Experience in a Quantity Surveying or commercial role within construction or fit out.
• Understanding of procurement, cost reporting, valuations and subcontractor management.
• Good numerical, analytical and organisational skills; proactive in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

Our client, a specialist commercial fit out contractor delivering high-end workplace environments, is seeking an ambitious Assistant Commercial Manager / Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in London.

Working across a portfolio of luxury office fit out and workplace projects, this is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded individual to develop their experience within a quality-driven contractor, supporting the commercial management of projects from procurement through to final account.

The Role

Working alongside the Commercial Manager and wider project teams, you will assist with the financial and contractual management of projects, helping to ensure costs are controlled and commercial objectives are achieved.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting with the commercial management of luxury commercial fit out projects.
• Supporting the preparation of cost reports, forecasts, valuations and financial assessments.
• Managing subcontractor procurement, enquiries, comparisons and appointments.
• Assisting with subcontractor payments, variations and final accounts.
• Monitoring project costs, identifying potential commercial risks and reporting on financial performance.
• Supporting contract administration and maintaining accurate commercial records.
• Liaising with project managers, subcontractors, suppliers and clients to resolve commercial queries.
• Contributing to effective cost control throughout the project lifecycle.

About You

• Previous experience in a Quantity Surveying or commercial role within construction, commercial fit out or interior refurbishment.
• An understanding of procurement, cost reporting, valuations and subcontractor management.
• Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with project and commercial teams.
• A proactive attitude, with a desire to develop within a fast-paced commercial environment.
• A degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline would be advantageous.
