Job summary

HS2 Ltd in Birmingham seeks an Assistant Commercial Manager to support commercial activities within Delivery teams, coordinating with the supply chain and contractors to assure and support commercial activities.

You will assist in developing works information, drafting contract documents, and managing contract payments, variations and performance reporting, while promoting Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in all work.

Qualifications

  • Experience administering contracts for infrastructure or similar programmes.
  • Understanding of dispute resolution processes and procedures.
  • Understanding of common commercial policies, processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of commercial works information and draft contract documents.
  • Develop a contract management plan.
  • Assist contract management to maintain commercial control post‑contract.
  • Assist the administration of the obligations of the Project Manager under NEC3.
  • Assist valuation of variations and compensation events.
  • Assist contract payments assessments.
  • Assist review and analysis of supply chain monthly reports.
  • Assist input into contract level performance information in monthly MBR reports.
  • Assist the settlement of supply chain disputes.
  • Assist estimate reviews at all stages.

As an Assistant Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of commercial activities within the Delivery teams. The role works alongside the supply chain and contractors to assurance and support commercial activities.

Pre-contract
About the role:
  • To be responsible for supporting the development commercial works information, reviewing works information from other functions and drafting contract documents.
Procurement
  • To be responsible for supporting the development of a contract management plan.
Post Contract
  • To be responsible for supporting the delivery of contract management of the contracts to maintain effective commercial control.
  • To be responsible for supporting the administration of the obligations of the Project Manager under the NEC3Contract.
  • To be responsible for supporting the valuation of variations and compensation events.
  • To be responsible for supporting contract payments assessment.
  • To be responsible for supporting the review and analysis of supply chain monthly reports.
  • To be responsible for supporting the input into contract level performance information into monthly MBR reports.
