Job summary

AMS Group is seeking an experienced Assistant Client Manager to support a varied portfolio of limited companies, sole traders and partnerships. You’ll balance hands-on technical accounting with client relationship management and help ensure deadlines are met.

You’ll onboard new clients, attend meetings with senior colleagues, and develop junior staff while working toward a Client Manager role. An inclusive, award‑winning culture backs a clear progression path.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in a UK accountancy practice
• Newly qualified or part-qualified ACA/ACCA/AAT or qualified by experience
• Organised, commercially aware with strong client relationship skills
• Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks and Sage

Responsibilities

• Act as a key point of contact for day-to-day client queries
• Support onboarding of new clients
• Attend client meetings independently and with senior colleagues
• Prepare and review statutory accounts and year-end files
• Prepare and review corporation tax and self‑assessment returns
• Oversee monthly and quarterly management accounts
• Delegate and review work by junior staff
• Provide feedback, mentoring and development support
• Help manage workflow and deadlines
