Job summary

Hotel Indigo London K West Shepherd's Bush is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead our engineering team and keep hotel operations running smoothly behind the scenes. You will oversee routine and preventive maintenance, coordinate day-to-day workloads, and drive efficiency improvements while maintaining high safety and service standards.

The role requires hands-on leadership with a focus on problem-solving, comprehensive knowledge of building systems, and a commitment to delivering exceptional

Qualifications

  • Experience leading engineering or maintenance teams.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Relevant professional certifications or licenses may be required by local regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Deputise for the Chief Engineer when needed and represent Engineering at meetings.
  • Oversee day-to-day maintenance of guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house spaces, including daily breakdowns and planned preventative maintenance (PPMs).
  • Allocate workloads to Engineering staff and supervise work standards and completion.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Engineer to manage engineering resources and improve energy efficiency and hotel profitability.
  • Support Health and Safety, fire life safety, and statutory compliance; assist with service contract setup and renewal.

A Day in Your Neighbourhood as our Maintenance Manager
  • To deputise for the Chief Engineer as directed during their absence. To attend and represent the Engineering Department at any meetings as directed. To conduct departmental meetings in the absence of the Chief Engineer.
  • To ensure that routine maintenance systems but not limited to just guest rooms, public areas and back of house areas are kept up to standard. To oversee the detailed routine maintenance for the hotel including day-to-day breakdowns and PPMs.
  • Directly responsible for the day-to-day allocation of workloads of all Engineering Department staff. To undertake daily supervision of work systems and standards for all team members. To follow up on completion of work, monitoring the standard of work carried out.
  • To work closely with the Chief Engineer in managing engineering resources to maintain or improve general standards within the operation. To help increase hotel profitability by making efficiency improvements in the expenditure of the Hotel's maintenance and energy budgets.
  • Assist the Chief Engineer to maintain high standards in regard to all Health and Safety, Fire life safety, statutory and mandatory compliance and to also assist setting up and renewing service contracts.
