Job summary

Coast and Vale Learning Trust in Ipswich is seeking a school kitchen assistant to work with the Head Chef and a team of 6 chefs to deliver high-quality meals for pupils and staff, from breakfasts to balanced lunches and a vibrant salad bar.

The role follows a daily duty rota with experience across boarding house meals, match-day sports catering and special school events, while upholding strict food hygiene and health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 (or equivalent).
• Demonstrate enthusiasm, initiative and flair.
• Reliability and punctuality; ability to work calmly under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality meals for pupils and staff, from breakfasts to lunches and a vibrant salad bar.
• Work via a daily duty rota with varied experience across boarding house meals, match-day catering and school events.
• Uphold food hygiene and Health, Safety and Welfare Policy; maintain a clean workspace.
