Job summary

Sushi Gourmet in Shrewsbury is recruiting an Assistant Chef Manager to join our outlet at Sainsbury's, Meole Brace retail park, SY3 9NB. The role is full-time with shifts starting early at around 6am and paying £12.66-£13.66 per hour.

You will lead a small team, uphold food safety standards and help run daily operations to deliver high-quality, sustainable dishes. Ideal candidates will have prior leadership experience, a strong sense of initiative, and the ability to work well under pressure

Qualifications

• Experience leading a small team to build confidence and capability.
• Strong understanding of Food Safety & Health & Safety regulations and brand standards.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and learn continually.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team in Chef Manager's absence and maintain audit standards.
• Ensure high cleanliness and food safety on site.
• Prepare fresh ingredients by hand, including meat and raw fish products.
• Label products accurately and comply with allergen regulations.
• Be an early riser with shifts starting around 6am.
• Learn new skills or improve existing ones.

And are able to:

• Be accountable forthe team in the Chef Managers absence, whilst maintaining audit standards for food and health & safety compliance while meeting EHO expectations
• Ensuring the team maintains a high standard of cleanliness and food safety on site to maintain a safe environment for our customers, our clients and ourselves
• Highly organised, with a focus on forward planning
• Prepare fresh ingredients by hand, including meat and raw fish products each shift
• Accurately labelling products ensuring lawful compliance around food safety and allergen compliance each shift.
• Be a skilled multitasker
• An early riser as shifts can start at 6am some days
• Learn new skills or improve skills already mastered

Qualifications

Level 2 Food Safety certificate, HACCP, Allergens and COSHH are Desirable although not essential as full training will be provided.

Great organisational, attention to detail and focus on Quality are must.
