Job summary

Busy Bees Nurseries in Weston-super-Mare is looking for an Assistant Chef to join our kitchen team. You will prepare healthy meals for children, support the Chef in delivering nutritious food, and help maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in a busy early years environment.

The role runs 9am–3pm, Monday to Friday, with opportunities for training and career progression within the Busy Bees benefits program.

Qualifications

• Experience in leadership within early years settings.
• Ability to mentor and solve problems.
• Drive improvements and ensure compliance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare healthy, nutritious meals that meet dietary requirements for children.
• Support the Chef in overseeing kitchen operations and maintaining food safety and hygiene standards.
• Ensure kitchen inventory is well-maintained and assist with ordering and stock management.
• Support meal preparation and assist in the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment.

Weston-Super-Mare is housed in a purpose-built double-story building with secure access, featuring a large garden and a separate baby garden.
