Job summary

Bupa UK is hiring an Assistant Chef / 2nd Chef for Clare House Care Home in Uxbridge. This is a permanent 30 hour contract with a salary range of £13.89-£15.40 per hour and a £1,000 welcome bonus.

You will craft varied, nutritious menus, lead the kitchen team, and ensure high standards of food quality and hygiene to create a warm, home-like dining experience for residents. Join our caring team and help residents live their best lives while contributing to a supportive, collaborative kitchen

• Passion for cooking with experience in a fresh food kitchen and hygiene certificates.
• Ability to create and deliver an excellent dining experience while adopting new ideas and high standards.

Responsibilities

• Using your passion for cooking to create varied, nutritious menus in line with dietary needs of residents.
• Suggest ideas to deliver an excellent dining experience and help residents feel at home.
• Train and manage the kitchen team in prep, cooking and serving of food.
• Adhere to COSHH and HACCP guidelines, budgets, and manage orders and deliveries.
• Cater for special events or seasonal activities such as fetes, Christmas parties, and birthdays.

You’ll Help Us Make Health Happen By

• Using your passion for cooking and fresh ingredients to create varied and nutritional menus in line with dietary needs and preferences of our residents
• Putting forward ideas to deliver an excellent dining experience, helping our residents to feel at home
• Training and managing the kitchen team in prepping, cooking and serving of food
• Adhering to COSHH and HACCP guidelines, company policies and procedures, budgets, managing orders and deliveries
• Catering for special events or seasonal activities, such as summer fetes, Christmas parties and birthdays (as required)

Key Skills / Qualifications Needed For This Role

A passion for cooking with previous experience working in a fresh food kitchen and relevant hygiene certificates. You want to create and deliver an excellent dining experience at each meal and make our residents feel at home. Open to new ideas, you’ll have an innovative approach to cooking whilst always adhering to high standards. You’ll enjoy communicating with others and you’ll cherish the little moments with our residents, sharing your love of food with them.
