Job summary

Bupa is seeking an Assistant Chef to join our care home kitchen team. You will create varied, nutritious menus using fresh ingredients while adhering to high hygiene standards, helping residents feel at home through delightful meals.

You will train and lead the kitchen team, ensuring meals are prepared and served to a high standard and that dietary needs are met. Flexible supporting events and seasonal activities are part of the role.

Qualifications

• A passion for cooking with fresh ingredients and hygiene certificates.
• Experience in a fresh food kitchen and delivering quality dining.
• Ability to communicate well and adapt ideas to resident needs.

Responsibilities

• Using your passion for cooking to create varied and nutritional menus for residents.
• Propose ideas to deliver an excellent dining experience and make residents feel at home.

We are looking for an equally passionate Assistant Chef to join the team and help create and deliver an excellent dining experience for our residents.

You'll help us make health happen by:

• Using your passion for cooking and fresh ingredients to create varied and nutritional menus in line with dietary needs and preferences of our residents
• Putting forward ideas to deliver an excellent dining experience, helping our residents to feel at home
• Training and managing the kitchen team in prepping, cooking and serving of food
• Adhering to COSHH and HACCP guidelines, company policies and procedures, budgets, managing orders and deliveries
• Catering for special events or seasonal activities, such as summer fetes, Christmas parties and birthdays (as required)

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

A passion for cooking with previous experience working in a fresh food kitchen and relevant hygiene certificates. You want to create and deliver an excellent dining experience at each meal and make our residents feel at home. Open to new ideas, you'll have an innovative approach to cooking whilst always adhering to high standards. You'll enjoy communicating with others and you'll cherish the little moments with our residents, sharing your love of food with them.
