Job summary

Healthcare Homes Holdings Limited is hiring an Assistant Chef at Tenchley Manor, Selsey. Join our nursing home kitchen team to prepare nutritious meals for 37 residents and support the Head Chef in daily operations.

This part-time role offers early hours, and the chance to gain City and Guilds or NVQ qualifications through our Academy. We value kindness, compassion and a commitment to high kitchen standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in a professional kitchen
• Good organisational skills and knowledge of kitchen practices
• Understanding of food hygiene standards and safety

Assistant Chef

Tenchley Manor, Selsey

£14.50 per hour

28.5 hours per week (includes alternate weekends)

7am - 5:30pm, 3 days per week

In the heart of Selsey, just south of Chichester, Tenchley Manor stands as a warm and welcoming home offering nursing, respite, and end-of-life care. Picture well-maintained gardens, a wheelchair-friendly promenade, and the soothing sound of waves at your doorstep.

What would a typical day look like?

• Help manage the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence
• Work to deliver nutritious and wholesome dishes cooked at the highest quality and standards
• Manage stock control
• To assist in leading and motivating a team
• Support the Head Chef with writing and planning weekly menus, ordering as well as keeping wastage to a minimum.

The successful candidate will have experience in working in a professional kitchen, have good organisational skills and knowledge of good kitchen practices and food hygiene standards. City and Guilds or NVQ qualifications are preferred but not essential as they can be provided through our Academy.
