Job summary

Bupa’s Waverley Grange Care Home in Farnham is seeking an Assistant Chef / 2nd Chef for a full-time perm role. You will help prepare nutritious meals for residents, train kitchen staff, and ensure food safety across menus. The position includes a welcome bonus and benefits, with shift hours from 7:10 am to 5:30 pm and occasional weekend work.

We value passion for quality dining, flexibility, and teamwork to deliver an excellent dining experience for residents with varied dietary needs.

Qualifications

• Experience cooking in a care home or similar environment.
• Knowledge of COSHH and HACCP guidelines.
• Ability to train and manage kitchen staff.

Responsibilities

Salary : £14.09 - £15.59 per hour. Depending on experience.

Perm contract

Shift - 7:10 am - 5:30pm, alternate weekends

We are looking for an equally passionate Assistant Chef to join the team and help deliver an excellent dining experience for our residents.

You'll help us make health happen by:

• Using your passion for cooking and fresh ingredients to create varied and nutritional menus in line with dietary needs and preferences of our residents


• Putting forward ideas to deliver an excellent dining experience, helping our residents to feel at home


• Training and managing the kitchen team in prepping, cooking and serving of food


• Adhering to COSHH and HACCP guidelines, company policies and procedures, budgets, managing orders and deliveries


• Catering for special events or seasonal activities, such as summer fetes, Christmas parties and birthdays (as required)
