Job summary

Waverley Grange Care Home in Farnham is recruiting an Assistant Chef / 2nd Chef. The role offers a perm contract with full-time hours, shift from 7:10 am to 5:30 pm and alternate weekends. Salary is £14.09–£15.59 per hour, depending on experience, with a £1,000 welcome bonus.

Join our kitchen team to deliver nutritious menus, support residents, and participate in events, while upholding COSHH and HACCP standards in a warm care-home setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen or catering environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create varied nutritious menus in line with residents' dietary needs and preferences.
• Contribute ideas to deliver an excellent dining experience for residents.
• Train and manage the kitchen team in prep, cooking and serving of food.
• Adhere to COSHH and HACCP guidelines, budgets, orders and deliveries.
• Cater for special events and seasonal activities as required.

You’ll Help Us Make Health Happen By

• Using your passion for cooking and fresh ingredients to create varied and nutritional menus in line with dietary needs and preferences of our residents
• Putting forward ideas to deliver an excellent dining experience, helping our residents to feel at home
• Training and managing the kitchen team in prepping, cooking and serving of foodAdhering to COSHH and HACCP guidelines, company policies and procedures, budgets, managing orders and deliveries
• Catering for special events or seasonal activities, such as summer fetes, Christmas parties and birthdays (as required)
