Job summary

Henshaws is seeking an Assistant Care Manager (Maternity Cover) to support the Partnerships Manager in delivering a high-quality, person-centred care service for young people with complex needs in Harrogate. This fixed-term role is on site and part of a values-driven charity.

You will lead a motivated team, ensure safety and wellbeing, develop care plans, and collaborate with families and external professionals.

Qualifications

• NVQ 2/Diploma in Health and Social Care or willingness to work towards Level 3 within an agreed timescale
• Good standard of Maths and English
• Willingness and experience to assist service users with any personal care requirements as needed
• Willingness to support with any clinical interventions (once trained and competent)
• Ability to keep calm under pressure when supporting with behaviours of concern
• Recent experience of working with young adults with additional needs
• Awareness and respect of service users rights
• Willingness to undertake and achieve Skills for Care Induction Award within 12 weeks if no formal care qualifications or relevant field

Responsibilities

• Support the Partnerships Manager in leading and developing a high-quality, person-centred care service for young people with complex needs.
• Ensure the wellbeing, safety, and development of students through effective care planning, team leadership, and compliance with CQC and College standards.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and support to colleagues, promoting a positive and accountable team culture.
• Work collaboratively with students, families, colleagues, and external professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of services, ensuring best practice and high-quality care are at the forefront of delivery.
