Job summary

Chewton Glen Hotel is seeking an Assistant Conference and Banqueting Manager to support the Conference & Banqueting Manager, overseeing allocated areas and ensuring high service standards at events.

You will prepare detailed mise-en-place, manage staffing and time efficiently, and maintain exceptional guest relations. This role requires delivering services to luxury standards in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and collaborating with senior teams.

Qualifications

• Previous C&B experience in a 5 star background is desirable.
• Experience in high-volume events is essential.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
• Charismatic, personable, and can-do attitude.
• Excel at building rapport with guests and team members.

Responsibilities

• Be confident in following and completing instructions from the Conference & Banqueting Manager or senior staff.
• Ensure Food & Beverage are served to hotel standards and on time per function sheet.
• Manage time and productivity effectively at work.
• Prepare mise-en-place, including polishing silverware, glasses and chinaware.
• Set up conference rooms as instructed by management and function sheet.
• Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and appearance.
• Attend briefings and departmental meetings.
• Follow fire, health and safety regulations and procedures.
• Show flexibility and support teamwork as directed by leadership.
• Adhere to hotel policies and procedures on privacy, confidentiality and data protection.
