Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity to recruit an Assistant Building Services Manager to support our high-performing preconstruction teams across the Midlands. The successful candidate will support the preconstruction phase through tender and design development, ensuring high-quality information and accurate costs. Reporting to the Building Services Manager, you will work with the preconstruction team, review tender documents, liaise with estimating, support supply chain coordination, and oversee service handovers to ensure contractual and technical compliance. This role involves working across multiple projects and acting as the MEP expert.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Support qualitative, technical, and commercial appraisal of services tenders.
  • Identify compliant and approved services solutions for tenders.
  • Assist in developing engineered value design options with consultants.
  • Ensure design compliance and perform gap analysis.
  • Coordinate supply chain activities.
  • Participate in tender meetings and reviews.
  • Support service handovers to ensure compliance.
  • Reinforce our customer-first ethic.
  • Build long-term relationships with design and supply chain partners.
About You

Essential Criteria:

  • Appropriate CSCS card.
  • Valid driving license.
  • Experience in services sector management.
  • Understanding of M&E legislation.
  • Commercial acumen and experience in designing and interrogating quotes.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Experience across various M&E projects.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Level 4 qualification (HNC/NVQ4).
  • Design/Estimating experience.
  • Progress towards MCIOB or CIBSE membership.
