We are looking for people like you to join the Children with Disabilities Team!This role is a team manager role with staffing to manage and with DSCO responsibilities.

The Designated Social Care Officer (DSCO) will work across the social care and SEND team to generate solutions and implement strategies with plans to improve outcomes for children and young people.The DSCO will lead and shape the social care components of the SEND strategy across the Trust; ensuring compliance with legislative requirements of the SEND Code of Practice (2015) and statutory responsibilities under the Children and Family Act (2014) and Care Act (2014) and directly influence the direction of SEND services through insight and intelligence.
You will attend the weekly SEN Panel, following up on the social care actions from that panel, coordinating EHC assessments and reviews with other social care assessments, and problem solve complex cases. Your role will also support colleagues with advice, guidance and training.
Your expertise will be instrumental in managing a robust social care needs assessment process that meets all statutory requirements. By working closely with existing Social Care and SEND Teams, you will ensure seamless planning for children with SEND, particularly those with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs). The role will also have a reach into adult social care as we seek to improve our pathways for children and young people into Adult Services.
