Job summary

Jewson in Totnes is seeking an Assistant Branch Manager to lead a customer-focused team and drive sales performance. You will support the Branch Manager, develop strong relationships with customers, and ensure smooth daily operations from order processing to stock control.

Your experience in sales, excellent communication, and passion for great service will help you deliver outstanding customer experiences while promoting health and safety in the workplace.

Qualifications

• Proven background in sales with track record of exceeding targets.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with customers and colleagues.
• Knowledge of building materials is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Act as first line support to the Branch Manager to lead and support the team.
• Get to know our product lines and services in order to make the most of all customer interactions.
• Develop great relationships with new and existing Customers (both face to face and over the phone), understanding their needs and providing proactive advice and solutions.
• Get to know the local market to support plans for sales growth.
• Use our in-house systems to process customer orders, organise delivery times, and keep customers updated throughout their journey.
• Maintain stock levels, carrying out regular stock counts.
• Lead your team to make Health & Safety a priority and demonstrate how you can keep yourself and others safe at work.

Jewson is a leading building materials distributor in Northern Europe, is on the hunt for an Assistant Branch Manager who's as passionate about great service as we are.

Hours: 7:00am - 16:30pm or 7:30am to 17:00pm Monday to Friday and every other Saturday morning 8am-12pm.

Location: Jewson, Babbage Rd, Totnes, TQ9 5JA.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as first line support to the Branch Manager to lead and support the team to deliver success.

Required Skills And Experience

• Proven background in Sales with a strong track record of exceeding sales targets.
• Strong communication to be able to provide great customer service.
• A passion for customer service.
• An ability to build, develop and maintain relationships.
• Industry experience / knowledge of building materials would be advantageous.
