Jewson in Edinburgh is recruiting an Assistant Branch Manager to support the Branch Manager in delivering sales, profitability and customer service.

You will help lead the branch team, build customer relationships, grow new and existing business and ensure high standards of health, safety, stock management and compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales or supervisory roles in building materials/merchanting is preferred.
• Strong customer-service focus with ability to build long-term relationships.
• Experience coaching or supporting a team to meet goals.
• Good IT literacy and ability to prioritise a busy workload.

We are recruiting for an **Assistant Branch Manager** to join our thriving **Jewson branch in Edinburgh, EH14 1NZ**. This is a full-time role working Monday-Friday 7:30 – 17:00, and every other Saturday from 08:00-12:00. As an **Assistant Branch Manager** at Jewson, you will support the Branch Manager in delivering strong sales, profitability and customer service performance. You will help lead and develop the branch team, build strong customer relationships, grow new and existing business and ensure high standards of health, safety, stock management and operational compliance. You will also deputise for the Branch Manager when required and play a key role in driving the overall success of the branch.**What You’ll Be Doing** * Supporting the Branch Manager in the day-to-day running of the branch, stepping in to lead the team whenever required.* Building strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs and providing expert advice to deliver outstanding service.* Driving sales by developing new business, growing existing accounts and re-engaging lapsed customers.* Coaching, motivating and developing colleagues to create a high-performing, customer-focused team.* Using local market knowledge to identify opportunities and support branch sales and profitability.* Ensuring the branch operates safely, efficiently and in line with company policies and procedures.* Managing stock, coordinating customer deliveries and helping maintain excellent product availability.* Monitoring branch performance against key targets, including sales, margin, customer satisfaction and operational compliance.* Championing Health & Safety and creating a positive culture where colleagues and customers come first. **What We're Looking For** * Previous experience in a sales or supervisory role, ideally within the building materials, merchanting or trade sector.* A passion for delivering outstanding customer service and building long-term customer relationships.* Experience leading, coaching or supporting a team to achieve shared goals.* Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify opportunities to grow sales and improve branch performance.* Confident communication skills and the ability to influence, motivate and manage challenging situations.* Organised with good IT skills and the ability to prioritise a busy workload.* A proactive, hands-on approach with a willingness to learn and continuously improve.* A commitment to maintaining high standards of Health & Safety and operational compliance.* A full UK driving licence is essential.
