Job summary

Kimpton Fitzroy London is seeking an Assistant Bars Manager to join the heart of Russell Square. The role supports the Bars Manager in day-to-day operation across all bar outlets and ensures high standards of service and guest experience.

You will lead a hands-on team, develop staff, and help implement seasonal menus and new bar concepts while collaborating with Events, Kitchen and Front of House teams for seamless service in a luxury hotel setting.

• Support the Bars Manager with the day-to-day operation of all bar outlets, ensuring high standards of service, presentation and guest experience.
• Lead by example on the floor, motivating and supporting the team during busy services.
• Coach, train and develop team members, helping to build confidence, knowledge and exceptional service skills.
• Support the implementation of seasonal drinks menus, promotions and new bar concepts.
• Maintain excellent knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine and current drinks trends, sharing your passion with both guests and the team.
• Work closely with Events, Kitchen and Front of House teams to ensure smooth and seamless service.
• Support stock management, ordering, inventory and cost control, helping to achieve strong commercial performance.
• Assist with maintaining service standards and ensuring the bars consistently meet luxury hospitality expectations.
• Build positive relationships with guests, suppliers and colleagues, helping to create a welcoming and engaging bar environment.
• Step up and take responsibility for the operation in the Bars Manager's absence. Previous supervisory or management experience within a high-end bar, restaurant or luxury hotel environment.
• A genuine passion for drinks, cocktails and creating memorable guest experiences.
• Strong knowledge of spirits, cocktails and current bar trends.
• A confident and hands-on leader who enjoys developing and supporting others.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to remain calm and focused in a busy environment.
• Commercial awareness, with an understanding of stock control, cost management and profitability.
• A proactive and positive approach, with a real desire to learn, develop and progress your career.
• Experience working to LQA or Forbes standards would be advantageous.
