Job summary

The Peninsula London is seeking an ambitious Assistant Bar Manager to join Brooklands Bar, overseeing the highest standards of service and proactive team engagement to deliver a memorable day-to-night guest experience with innovative cocktails and a skyline backdrop.

You will lead a skilled bar team, partner with the Bar Manager and Restaurant Director on creativity and technical flair, and ensure safety, hygiene and guest satisfaction across all service moments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years relevant experience in a similar environment.
• Strong leadership and people skills with effective communication.
• Fluent English; second language desirable.
• Excellent knowledge of food and beverage and cocktails.

The Peninsula London is excited to announce we are seeking an ambitious Assistant Bar Manager to join the team within our Brooklands Bar. This role will be accountable for ensuring the highest levels of food and beverage service while proactively managing team engagement to create the finest guest experience. A sleek space showcasing innovative cocktails, as well as striking views across London's skyline, Brooklands Bar makes an unforgettable day-to-night rooftop destination. An array of classic cocktails can be savoured here, along with more conceptual cocktails specially developed in the "Drinks Studio". The bar’s design further embraces the restaurant’s themes of classic British aviation, motorsport, and fine craftsmanship. Its intricate latticed ceiling echoes that of a twin-engine bomber designed in the 1930s; its striking glass chandelier, meanwhile, replicates the blades of a Rolls Royce turbine jet engine.

Key Accountabilities

• Support and lead the team to deliver memorable bar experience


• Support the Bar Manager and Restaurant Director in innovation, creativity and technical ability to position the Bar


• Handle all guest complaints in a courteous and efficient manner, communicating with senior management when necessary


• Establish and maintain outstanding colleague interactions with exceptional working relationships


• Ensure the highest level of Health and Safety and Hygiene are maintained, reporting employee and guest accidents, and responding suitably to any hotel emergency

General Requirements

• Minimum 2 years relevant experience within a similar environment.


• Extensive food and beverage knowledge with the ability to remember and recall ingredients to best inform customers and waiting staff


• Strong leadership, motivational and people skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all team members and guests


• Fluent English communication proficiency expertise in a second language would be desirable
