Job summary

Hawksmoor in London is seeking an Assistant Bar Manager to support the Bar Manager, lead the bar team and ensure every drink and service meets Hawksmoor standards. You’ll blend creativity and leadership with a passion for cocktails, wines and guest experience, training bartenders, managing stock and costs, and deputising for the Bar Manager to keep service on point, energetic and warmly welcoming.

• Experience as an Assistant Bar Manager, supervisor or strong Head Bartender in a quality cocktail-led venue.
• Passionate about cocktails, wines, spirits and guest experiences.
• Organised, energetic and confident under pressure; eager to progress to Bar Manager.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day leadership of the bar team.
• Ensure drinks quality, service and speed meet Hawksmoor standards.
• Train and develop bartenders and barbacks through coaching and tastings.
• Manage stock, ordering, and waste to maintain cost control.
• Be a visible, hands-on leader on the floor and behind the bar.
• Deputise for the Bar Manager when needed, keeping service smooth and consistent.

What You’ll Do

• Support the Bar Manager with day-to-day leadership of the bar team

• Help train and develop bartenders and barbacks through coaching and tastings
• Manage stock, ordering, and waste to maintain excellent cost control

Who You Are

• Experienced as an Assistant Bar Manager, Supervisor or strong Head Bartender in a quality, cocktail‑led venue

• Ambitious and ready to progress towards a Bar Manager role
