Job summary

MAG (Airports Group) is looking for an Assistant Airfield Ground Lighting Technician to join our established team at East Midlands Airport. The role covers routine maintenance, alignment and installation of Airfield Ground Lighting in line with manufacturer recommendations and EMA/CAA/SRG codes of practice.

The successful candidate will undertake maintenance of High Mast Lighting, generators and LV systems, with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance, supported by training and progression

Qualifications

• Completion of an electrical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent electrical contracting experience.
• 18th Edition trained.
• Good problem solving and analytical skills with fault-finding experience.
• Full UK Driving Licence required.

Responsibilities

• Document and record maintenance, alignment and installations per EMA Codes of Practice.
• Undertake routine maintenance and installation of AGL equipment including High Mast Lighting, generators, LV systems and control systems.
• Carry out planned maintenance schedules.
• Attend training as directed by the ATM to meet CAA/SRG standards.
• Assist in airfield engineering stores and support efficient operations.
• Ensure all work complies with current Electrical Regulations and EMA procedures.

Full time Permanent – 42 hours per week

Monday – Friday 8am – 4pm (must be flexible to start and finish times)

Profile description:

This exciting new role to join an established engineering team as an Assistant Airfield Ground Lighting Technician who will be responsible in undertaking the routine maintenance, alignment and installation of all Airfield Ground Lighting in accordance with the manufacturer recommendations and CAA/SRG codes of practice. This includes a variety of equipment such as High Mast Lighting, generators, LV systems and control systems.

Typical duties will include

• Document and record all the maintenance, alignment and installations as required by the Codes of Practice laid down by EMA Approved Maintenance Organisation
• Undertake routine maintenance and installation of all other Airport Aeronautical Ground Lighting equipment not included in the above as and when directed
• Undertake any other duties of a similar responsibility level as may be prescribed from time to time, compatible with training and experience
• Attend training courses as directed by the ATM to provide the level of competence necessary to carry out maintenance work on the Aeronautical Ground Lighting to the standards required by CAA/SRG
• Carry out planned maintenance schedules
• Assist and co-operate in the efficient running of the Airfield Engineering stores
• Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the current Electrical Regulations, in accordance with the Company's Quality Management procedures and EMA Approved

What will make you successful in the role?

• Completion of an electrical engineering apprenticeship, or sufficient experience in an electrical contracting background
• 18th Edition trained
• Good problem solving and analytical skills – experience with electrical fault finding.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable

• Experience in HV, generator systems and regulators.
• AGL course trained Module 1 – 3.
• Authorised Person trained
