Norwich Airport Ltd is seeking a qualified Electrician to undertake daily inspection, maintenance and rectification of Airfield Ground Lighting, standby power generators and Emergency Lighting at Norwich Airport.
You will work under the Senior Airfield Electrician, supervise external contractors, maintain records, and comply with CAA requirements. 39 hours/week with weekend call-ins; a valid Airfield Driving Permit is required.
This is position is based at Norwich Airport.
MAIN SCOPE & FUNCTION OF JOB
Under the direction of the Senior Airfield Electrician undertakes daily inspection, maintenance and rectification of Airfield Ground Lighting, maintenance of standby power generators; maintenance and servicing of Airport Emergency Lighting and other tasks as designated by the Senior Airfield Electrician.
Airfield, office, workshop, and equipment rooms, working at heights of 30m and outdoor working, 39 hours per week plus weekend call in as required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES / DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY
The post holder will be expected to work without supervision and act on his/her own initiative and authority. He/she will also be required to supervise external contractors and engineers whilst carrying out maintenance and repair of equipment and demonstrate safe workshop practices in accordance with health and safety procedures.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & EQUIPMENT TYPES
A. To act in the absence of the Senior Airfield Electrician on operational and technical matters.
B. Maintenance, modification and repair of the Airfield Ground Lighting, Repairs to AGL Hardware such as AGL Light Fittings, AGL standby generators, maintenance and servicing of Emergency Lights throughout the airport, Portable Appliance Testing of electrical equipment throughout the airport. Maintenance of electrical installations within airport buildings.
C. Maintenance of technical records in accordance with CAA requirements.
D. Participation and co-operation in the management of Critical Spares and storage.
E. Maintenance, control and Calibration of Test and Measuring Equipment. (TME)
F. Following procedures in accordance with local and regulatory documents
G. To undertake other tasks and duties commensurate with the post as requested by the Senior Airfield Electrician.
H. To carry out Airside driving and maintain a valid Airfield Driving Permit by demonstrating the required driving skills and medical standards.
H. Visual driving inspection of AGL Systems on the airfield and sites beyond the airfield boundary
I. Complete safe isolation and monthly/bi monthly tests to HV AGL circuits
J. Complete service to Abacus masts
